8vo (7,7x4,8 inches) of 2 ff. (half-title and title page), 188 pp.  illustration: Five folding plates.  binding: Contemporary full speckled brown sheepskin binding. Flat spine gilt, titled in gilt on lettering-piece.  Minor spotting on pp. 123-126. A few minor defects to binding. Joint very slightly cracked on 3 centimeters.

Great mathematician, Monge is considered the father of differential geometry. In 1792 he became minister of the marine. His works "Traité élémentaire de statique, à l'usage des écoles de la marine" show is interest in the concrete application of the theorical works.
