12mo (6,1x3,5 inches) of [8] ff., 140 pp.  illustration: 26 engravings in text.  binding: Begining of19th century full marbledfawn sheepskin binding. Flat spine, titled in gilt on lettering-piece.  Corners chipped. Head of spine defective.

Curious work, published before the work of Cardan (whose "metoposcopy" was published in 1658) and Lavater on the same theme.
The author tries to guess the characters or the future of a person by examining facial features and especially the forehead wrinkles and eye shape.
A. Neuville has published a detailed analysis of this work : "Un Précurseur de Lambroso au XVIIe siecle" in La Revue des Revues (June 15, 1896).
