Two rare alchemical treatises bound in one volume.
Both volumes were published in 1618 by Pacard.

The first: "Cosmopolite ou nouvelle lumière de la physique naturelle" (first published in1609) is partly original. Indeed, the text has been increased by the "Dialogue de Mercure, de l'Alchymiste et de la nature".
It is this final version, which has been regularly reprinted (in 1628 and 1629), then under the title "Nouvelle lumière chymique" from 1669 until today. It is the only book written by Alexander Sethon.

The second book is the first French edition of "Traicté du Soulphre".
This book is usually attributed to Sendivogius.
Rare edition, lacking in most collections (not in Caillet, Dorbon, Fergusson, in Duveen [542]).
There are following two rare treatises on alchemy: "Oeuvre royalle de Charles VI. Roy de France" and "Thrésor de Philosophie ou original du désir désiré de Nicolas FLAMEL. Livre très-excellent, contenant l'ordre & la voye qu'a observé ledit Flamel en la composition de l'Oeuvre physique, comprise sous ses figures hiérogliphiques. Extraict d'un ancien Manuscrit".

EXCEPTIONAL SET OF ALCHEMICAL TREATIES, BOUND IN CONTEMPORARY VELLUM.
