Lamy Bernard (Le Mans 1640, Rouen, 1715).
He taught grammar, rhetoric and philosophy at Saumur and Angers.
Great defender of the Cartesian philosophy, he was sentenced to exile these ideas.
He became professor at Grenoble, where he published books which were very well received by scholars and the public.
